It's been over a year since I last posted. Almost sounds like a 12 step program. A few things have happened since that last post. We moved from North Bend to Coos Bay. I've added TONS of new products and fragrances. We've made lots of new friends. Clay quit his job and we opened another shop in Old Town Florence, Oregon. Amy moved on to bigger and better. We've picked up a bunch of new stockists through Etsy Wholesale. Liam started First Grade.
We are running 2 storefronts, making everything from scratch, managing our wholesale accounts and our website... with just the two of us.
Just Clay and I.
It's wonderful. It's busy. We're grateful, lucky, tired, thankful, ecstatic, happy and did I mention tired?
Something has been affecting me at my very core lately. With the Holiday Season quickly approaching, I feel the need to express this feeling.
In this age of email and social media interactions, we can sometimes forget to be kind to each other. It's much easier to be mean via written communication vs in-person communication. I feel as though sometimes people forget that when they send an emotionally hostile message to a "brand", they forget that an actual person reads it. This person has feelings. This negativity affects them to their core.
We are a very small business run by 2 people. I personally, create and touch every single item that exists on our shelves. I add 110% of myself into our products. I am a person with feelings. I appreciate being spoken to like a person with feelings. Everyone does.
Let's all agree to live our lives by the most important Golden Rule:
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
This isn't written for the many but for the few who tend to forget to speak to others with empathy.
To the many: I am so grateful for your love and kindness. It is your love and kindness that fuels my creativity. Thank you.
